England Team Selection Announced: Jude and Phil Left Out, Saka Makes Comeback
The England manager has chosen to retain the same England squad that triumphed against Andorra and produced a stellar performance in Serbia during the previous international break, leaving no room for the Real Madrid star and the Manchester City attacker in his selection for the forthcoming friendly against Wales and the World Cup qualifier in Latvia.
Despite Foden making a strong case for a return to the squad after rediscovering his form at Manchester City, and Bellingham having made a comeback for his Spanish club following shoulder surgery, the head coach has decided against including two of the country's most prominent attacking talents. The young midfielder has been in the starting lineup only once for his team since his return.
Tuchel has made room for Bukayo Saka, who is fully recovered and has been reinstated in place of his unavailable club colleague the sidelined player. Jack Grealish has not been handed a return to the squad.

The national team coach expressed his admiration for the energy in last month's squad and seems intent on keeping the same atmosphere. The Newcastle defender, who started at left-back in the 5-0 win in Belgrade, has been ruled out due to a knee injury. The manager has not called up a like-for-like substitute for the Newcastle player but has selected John Stones, who had to withdraw previously. He has discussed the Manchester City defender's importance for England and has floated the idea of deploying him in the middle of the park.
No spot has been found for the midfielder, who was called up last month but pulled out injured and was substituted by the Milan player.
Tuchel said: “It was only three weeks after the last camp and the most recent victory, the last performance, so the consideration was why not bring the same group in because they set the standard. The focus now is on building routines out of it. We have regrettably a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Tino and Madueke and we bring of course the Arsenal forward in to take the place of Noni. The defender was a late call-up previously; he will stay in camp.”
