Manchester Synagogue Assault Fatalities Revealed

Mr. Cravitz, sixty-six, resided in Crumpsall - the area where the Heaton Park Congregation Synagogue is found, per law enforcement.

Two men fatally injured in a violent incident on a Jewish house of worship in Manchester have been named by authorities as Adrian Daulby, aged 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66.

Three others are still hospitalized with serious injuries after the assailant used an automobile into pedestrians before attacking with a knife on the morning of the incident.

The attack, which police have said was a terror-related event, took place during the Day of Atonement, the holiest day in the Jewish tradition.

The perpetrator, who was shot dead at the location, was a 35-year-old British citizen of Syrian background who was not previously identified to counter terrorism police, per official statements.

Official Statements

"Our hearts are broken," the UK's Chief Rabbi commented.

During a conversation on a major broadcast, he said: "What transpired yesterday was a devastating impact to us, something which actually we were fearing might happen because of the preceding circumstances."

The attack was not only "an extremely difficult period" for the British Jewish community "but for everyone in our country," he emphasized.

Security Measures

"Our responsibility is to guarantee our Jewish population, our residents can live their lives with protection and peace of mind," the Home Secretary announced.

"It is unacceptable that the Jewish community in our country to believe they must live a limited religious practice, that they cannot go about their business and observe their religion and visit their worship places in liberty," she continued.

The assailant was not identified to security services, she stated to broadcasters, and it was "premature" to say if there was a terror network behind the attack.

Police Inquiry

The law enforcement inquiry was "moving forward quickly" and there was an enhanced security deployment at synagogues across the UK.

"Authorities allocate security funding," the official stated, adding: "We must evaluate what more we can do to combat rising antisemitism."

Law enforcement officials confirmed they were providing help to loved ones of the two victims.

"Sincere condolences are with the families of the victims at this profoundly challenging moment," law enforcement leadership stated.

He confirmed that specialized support personnel were in contact with them and would maintain assistance through the investigative procedures.

"Whilst there are processes which need compliance, we promise to be considerate of religious traditions and concerns and to guaranteeing that the victims and their relatives' requests are followed," he continued, stating that the both victims were from the Manchester community.

Autopsies are scheduled on the next day, according to official sources.
